Divemaster Course
This is the first step towards becoming an Instructor or Assistant Instructor. By working closely with an Instructor and through independent study, you'll expand your knowledge of all aspects of diving and hone your diving skills to the professional level. Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities, help instructors with student divers and classes, and conduct some programs on your own.
During the PADI Divemaster program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems. There are 12 Knowledge Development topics to cover ranging from dive theory to assisting student divers in training
You put this knowledge into action through an internship that requires you to actively participate during all levels of scuba training. You will be present and work alongside a scuba Instructor teaching a real diving class. You will be evaluated on leadership ability, dive skills, rescue skills, knowledge of dive theory, judgment, and professionalism.
Prerequisites:
- Certification as an Advanced Open Water Diver and a Rescue Diver
- 20 logged dives are required to begin training, 60 are required for certification as PADI Divemaster
- Be at least 18 years old
Upon completion of this course, you will be able to conduct Discover Scuba Diving, Discover Snorkeling, the PADI Skin Diver Course, Scuba Review, and Discover Local Diving Courses all on you own!
Our Divemaster course includes all training, instructor critique, DSD internship, air, and the training manual package, but does not include PADI Divemaster processing fee or diving equipment.
